Lattimore to be keynote speaker for 20th Annual MLK Unity Breakfast

Come together as a community on Jan. 20 for the 20th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Breakfast at Blue Ridge Community College featuring keynote speaker Dr. Vergel L. Lattimore III, President and Professor of Pastoral Psychology and Counseling at Hood Theological Seminary.
The goal of the breakfast, titled “Intelligence plus Character: The Goal of True Education,” is to celebrate and remember Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and to empower those in our community toward his vision: a community united in justice, peace and reconciliation.
Keynote speaker Dr. Lattimore’s areas of expertise include, but are not limited to: Pastoral Care; Counseling and Psychotherapy; Dynamics of Addiction; and Personal Transformation for Effective Ministry.
Tickets are available for purchase at the Community Foundation of Henderson County, located at 401 North Main Street, Suite 300. Adult tickets are $15 and child tickets (ages 5-12) are $5. Tickets can also be purchased at the door or by calling (828) 697-6224.
The MLK Unity Breakfast is held at Blue Ridge Community College’s Conference Hall in its Technology Education & Development Center (TEDC). Doors open at 8 a.m. with breakfast starting at 8:30 and the program beginning at 9:15.
