Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) Plus
Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) Plus is above the minimum standard hours and designed to give students the essential skills required for entry-level employment as law enforcement officers with the state, county or municipal governments, or private enterprise. The course is comprised of 36 separate blocks of instruction to include topics such as firearms; driver training; motor vehicle law; and arrest, search and seizure. The BLET PLUS course is filled with practical exercises and an extensive ethics section that is woven throughout the training experience. BLET PLUS extra training hours are designed to better prepare students for officer safety.
Day BLET Program Schedule
This certification is a prerequisite to be a sworn law enforcement officer in the state. Advanced law enforcement training is designed for certified law enforcement officers to enhance their skills, knowledge and ability to function as an experienced law enforcement officer.
Successful graduates are qualified to take the certification examination as mandated by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training and Standards Commission and or North Carolina Sheriff's Education and Training and Standards Commission.
Basic Enforcement Training is designed to equip the student with the basic skills, knowledge, and ability to function as an inexperienced law enforcement officer in the state of North Carolina. This program-certification is a prerequisite to be a sworn law enforcement officer in the state. Advanced law enforcement training is designed for certified law enforcement officers to enhance their skills, knowledge and ability to function as an experienced law enforcement officer.
Students can apply for financial assistance for BLET. There are two new $500 scholarships available. Scholarships donated from Stand TALL (Thank A Local Law Enforcement)
